Dissertation title “Design of light-steel framing with built-up members from cold-formed steel profiles”. Research focuses on composed thin-walled members from light cold-formed steel profiles, as well as the connecting elements between such members; applications include industrial halls, residential, agricultural and office buildings.

Gave/supervised courses: "Strength of Materials" "Design of Steel and Timber Structures" "Problem Solving and Design of Steel Structures" “Design and calculation of steel structures” “Design principles (EN 1990) and loads on structures (EN 1991)”.

Research topics include: + connections in thin-walled structures with an emphasis on moment-transmitting connections; + interpretation and popularisation of the Eurocodes for industry; + example exercises according to EN 1993-1-3 and EN 1993-1-1; + implementation of the finite element and finite strip methods for integral design of thin-walled primary members in buildings; + bolted connections and bolt-slip behaviour in cold-formed steel structures; + fire-safety engineering in light-steel framing.

Master Thesis "Pedestrian Induced vibrations on footbridges" - investigation of the effect of synchronized and non-synchronized walking on the pedestrian bridge over E40 in Wetteren, Belgium. Graduated with highest honor (summa cum laude) as forth in the year 2008 from 180 graduates.
