Conducting a number of short engagements for various businesses globally, while actively searching for a full time position. These included: Acting as a digital mentor for a B2B/B2C e-commerce, wine import business in Switzerland. Utilised user data to iterate on design solutions, improving customer satisfaction, product usability and conversion rates. Redefined an optimised prospect journey flow for a Wealth Management company in the Middle East.

Led strategic initiatives to analyse and cleanse proprietary data, integrating key third-party datasets to develop AI/ML-driven SaaS analytical products that proactively identify risks in retailer and brand supply chains. Established and led creation of a digital arm for a traditionally lab-focused business. Collaborated directly with the COO to develop and implement digital strategy, steering it from a sales-centric, lab-based service model to a forward-thinking, product-driven, DAAS business.

Co-developed and successfully pitched the strategic opportunity and business plan for a global carbon marketplace, securing buy-in from stakeholders as part of a small, high-impact team. Drove operational processes across the organisation to achieve strategic objectives. Founded and led the creation of all operational processes necessary to spin the company off as an independent entity from Yara, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.

Led eight cross-continental product management teams in developing AI-driven SaaS applications, integrating satellite, sensor, and weather data into analytical dashboards that empowered farmers to make precise predictive calculations for precision farming.

Launched and operationalised Yara’s European digital hub in Berlin, managing everything from location selection and refurbishment to staffing and building a cohesive operational team.

I lead a multidiscipline product development & data science team for the editorial products at Viacom. They apply agile (BDD) sprints to deliver value quickly. I work with the senior team to develop the vision & strategy and the prioritize the the roadmap for the sites and apps in accordance with the vision. Since becoming responsible for the team, both UVs and video streams have grown by 120%, while social shares have increased by 350%, & all revenue targets are exceeded.

Recruited from Australia to set up the company’s strategic practice, I was responsible for defining the vision, approach and methodology, training staff and successfully marketing this service to clients. The offering is so successful that almost every design engagement now commences with a Strategy Phase.

Reporting directly to the CEO, I managed an 18-person multidisciplinary, agile development team. I was responsible for strategic planning, roadmap creation, development, marketing and maintenance of large-scale projects and enhancements across platforms. I also managed the ongoing relationships with our data distribution partners. During my time there the main business KPIs all grew significantly (unique visitors increased by 59%, SEO traffic grew by 250%, onsite searches increased by 35%).

stablished one of the largest and most respected in-house, 15-person User Experience Design teams in Australia, supporting all 16 media sites, 3 marketplace sites and 3 e-commerce sites owned by company. Above and beyond my role as User Experience Director I also successfully established SEO, web standards and web analytics specialties across the media network.

I established a solid and effective User Experience Design consultancy practice that was the foundation of their ongoing offering until they closed. Clients I worked with at this time included the insurance company NRMA, Financial companies including Virgin Home loans, Colonial First State and the Marriott Hotels booking site. The success of the design of the Marriott’s Australian site resulted in Different’s appointment as global User Experience partner.

I joined the 6-person start-up and was critical in expanding the company’s research capabilities beyond their existing usability testing services. After I left Flow they engaged me independently, flying me from Sydney to London to secure a potential long-term partnership with the publishing company Butterworths. Clients there included Vodafone and the BBC.

I was the lead Information Architect, responsible for the overall information and interaction design on what was Sapient’s largest ever engagement, the opodo travel site. I was responsible for ensuring a high quality information design that was successfully shared and built by the 100-person development team, spread over 3 continents. The site won several awards and Sapient continues to be engaged in its ongoing development.

Providing consultancy to a whole range of clients, a significant group of whom are financial (e.g. Australian Stock Exchange, Westpac, Commonwealth Bank). I also lead training courses on the Hiser Toolkit - a set of processes and tools created to establish an end-to-end user-centered design approach within large corporate organizations.

Leading a new team focused on promoting the adoption of User-Centered Design not just within the institute but also within Singapore. We delivered user-informed interface designs to a number of national-level, strategically important projects such as the digitization of the legal system, and the student-teacher workbench.
