Elected in November of 2006 with 60.1 percent of the vote (9,272 votes to 6,148 votes). Second youngest legislator in the state of Missouri (youngest in Kansas City area). Treasurer of Freshman Member Caucus (unanimously elected by both Republicans & Democrats).
