Assumed the role of Systems Configuration Manager to provide accurate and timely configurations for the DaVinci Prime spin clean systems in production and the field. I lead a cross functional team of up to 8 personnel in four different departments (SW, chemistry / processes, equipment, electronics).

This was a short term contract as a data analyst and researcher. At the time the Fontana Group was handling 95 court cases representing automobile dealerships against General Motors and Chrysler. My task was to research and collect information on these dealerships and their competition. The purpose of this data was to demonstrate in court, that the dealerships should not be closed down.

After we were taken over by KLA, my position remained largely unchanged, except that after six years, I firmly entrenched as the "go to" person for all of ADE Phase-Shift's large production systems. My final role was project manager (engineering) for product end of life.

I held multiple roles over the eight years, starting as a software engineer. After a year of this, I asked my then manager for more of a leadership role, and he gave me half his job. I progressed first to project leader, then to the supervisor for systems integration, testing & QA, and build / release / configuration management.

As my primary hobby, I started writing video game reviews and articles about the console market. These were published initially on CompuServe's video game forums, and subsequently on several websites, most prominently on the Gamebits website, and Tiptonium Many of my reviews are still available.

 Additionally, I worked in the evenings on the, now defunct, InsidePS2Games website acting as a News Writer, Reviewer, Commentator and Editor.

 I developed a small, but enthusiastic fan-base.

For the first time in 12 years, my sole role was software development. I worked extensively with SQL Server, Borland C++ builder and Access to optimize database handling systems. One project that particularly stands out was an auto-hacking program I wrote for Access databases we were receiving from a supplier. Getting the passwords proved time-consuming, so I researched and developed a means of cracking the protection so the data, which belonged to Sprint, could be extracted.

A continuation of my Bell + Howell work, my first role was West Coast (California) systems support for the same 9-track tape / optical disk document management system. After fixing all the customers' problems I closed down the office and was recalled to Atlanta, Ga, where I continued in pre- and post- sales support, systems installation and integration, training and requirements analysis. I also became the company webmaster, and project lead on small-scale software development contracts.

From a blank sheet of paper, I designed, developed, installed and did training on an entirely new document imaging system. Coding took just two weeks to complete, and the system went live immediately after installation at the customer; a factoring company. Visual Basic running on Windows 3.11 was the development environment. During development I did demonstrations of a version that simulated the document scanner.

First job after University, I immediately went in a non-traditional direction. Employed to be primarily a systems expert for a new document management system based on nine track tape and early optical disk technology, the role expanded to include camera / microfilm and scanning / optical disk document management systems. My roles were; software development, pre- and post- sales support, systems installation and integration, training and requirements analysis.

After my previous assignment ended, I found myself a new student's position with Eli Lilly's research site. I worked initially converting programs from Fortran to VAX basic, then on a project tracking system for use by the researchers. This included designing the database, writing the data entry system and the database integrity routines. I trained my replacement before I left to return to University.

As part of my 4-year degree, we were required to spend a year in industry. I spent these few months working extensively in Macro-11 assembler doing data conversions for a flow management system. Then the parent company, Hawker Siddeley, shut the office down.
