Jörg Rödel

I am working on Confidential Computing technologies like AMD SEV and Intel TDX and help to enable them in the open source ecosystem. For that I contributed the Linux kernel guest support for AMD SEV-ES to the 5.19 kernel. I also initiated the open source COCONUT-SVSM project which plays a major role in securing confidential virtual machines. With organizing the Confidential Computing Microconference at Linux Plumbers I also help to bring the community together to discuss open issues and questions.

At AWS I helped building a new team of developers based in Germany to work on Amazon EC2 cloud infrastructure. I worked on the underlying hypervisor and Linux kernel which runs EC2 instances.

At AMD I worked in the Operating System Research Center on improving the Linux kernel for the x86 architecure in general and on AMD processors. I am the author of the AMD IOMMU driver and have made several contributions to the KVM hypervisor, like support for Nested Paging and several improvements to nested virtualization on AMD processors.
