Freelancing with Brydges Group involves engineering from conceptual through detailed design. Construction and Construction Management of projects range from design build to turnkey lump sum contracts and fee-at-risk/ time and material projects plus Start-up & Commissioning, and Validation. Specializing in the Biopharmaceutical industry the Brydges Group mission is to enhance the efficiency of the industry and to provide consumers with a higher quality, lower cost product.

In the thermoelectrics group I collaborated with NASA and Department of Energy on the Enhanced Multi-Mission Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator program to power next the Mars Rover. My tasks included designing production tools using SolidWorks, database development with MS Access to track production, and training technicians in production methods. In the fuel cells group I performed the thermodynamic analysis of new systems and commissioned new equipment for on-site construction of fuel cells.

In a pilot plant I produced heavy-duty diesel automotive catalysts for Daimler, John Deere and GM product lines. I worked with zeolite based Cold Start Concept catalysts to improve HC and NOx storage and modified solution rheology of 1-50 gallon batches for improved performance. In product development, I synthesized Pt, Pd and Rh powders with increased activity and processed characterization data of Synthetic gas mix Catalyst Activity Tests, X-ray fluorescence and diffraction, and BET surface area testing.

I quantified the stationary, marine, and locomotive market opportunity in North America for retrofit technology. In California, I opened a multi-million dollar market by acquiring the California Air Resource Board verification for the L-CCRT DPF system. The task required frequent coordination with the EPA, Environment Canada, CARB, and state legislatures. I also performed catalyst field performance tests using XRF and XRD to determine catalyst poisoning and thermal deactivation for customer support.
