I built an in-house risk system to manage financial risk for the BlueTrend and BlueMatrix investment programs from scratch. Asset coverage is IRS, FX, Futures, Equities, Swaps. I am using a mix of java, python, SQL Server, HP Vertica, apache spark, Jupyter, linux and windows. The system comprises of an ETL layer to an HP Vertica database, a cluster compute for typical risk metrics using the python API to Apache Spark, and a user/reports layer written in Python and Excel.

Systematica Investments was founded in January 2015 as a spin-off of the Systematic division from BlueCrest Capital Management. www.systematica.com I managed a team of developers to deliver quantitative financial data to systematic trading systems and models for: 1) immediate automated investment decisions 2) downstream booking, trade and position reconciliation etc 2) incubation, backtesting and calibration of new models and strategies

Data was real time, historic tick, daily and reference data.

I delivery managed across a variety of functional teams including dev, QA and implentation for a number of business development projects. Typical examples were the addition of new products and asset classes to the systematic trading portfolio.

Managed an international team of technical trade support staff that provided 24/7 system support for an 8bn systematic hedge fund. Duties included rota management, escalation of issues, fault finding and resolution, trader support, release management, technical risk management. Configured and oversaw more than 10 managed account launches, numerous portfolio expansions and release managed several billion dollars of new and re-invested profit. For a period of time this also included system QA activities.

General purpose development and support of systematic trading systems. I wrote various systems to perform automated trade allocations and trade reporting to counterparties, front office reconciliations, anaytics, risk/position/trade views, database persistence of portfolio state, and model integration. Many of the solutions I wrote ran for years in production with no issues.

An interest rates analyst focusing mainly on trade idea generation in non-credit OTC interest rate derivatives. I also set up many analytics views on the Credit Suisse Research and Analytics interactive website called Locus.

The imperial college physics degree is a multi-discipline 4 year under graduate course, with a large research project in the 4th year., and a heavy focus on entrepreneurship.
