Dr. Julian Mauricio Angel Fernandez

I worked in the ER4STEM project, funded by the European Union under the program HORIZON 2020. It had a budget of 1.5 Million. I had two roles in this project: researcher and scientific coordinator. As a Scientific coordinator, I was in charge to control that the project was going to the right direction. Therefore, I organize follow up meeting with all the partners to verify project status, stablish and modify activities, organize teleconferences, organize and hold face-to-face meetings.

I am working in the ER4STEM project (www.er4stem.com), funded by the European Union under the program HORIZON 2020. I work as package leader dedicated to the development of the educational framework, which has as main objective the creation of educational activities with robots.

I worked as laboratory assistant for the department of Electronic, Information and Bio- engineering. Main duties were tutoring students on the theory and support them on programming exercises.

I worked as instructor professor. My main duties where prepare materials for classes, grade exams, prepare homework, and student attention. The courses that I taught were: Basic programing, Introduction to C. Basic programming II, Advance features of C. Programming languages, automaton theory and compilers’ theory. And, introduction to artificial intelligence.

SPADIES is an information system created by la Universidad de los Andes for the Colombian minister of education. This system is use to have information about the number of students that drop out their tertiary studies.

During the development of this system I had periodic meetings, with the people in charge, to collect the requirements and expectations that they had about the system. As part of my job, I always suggested solutions or give them ideas to improve the outcome. The system was developed using: PHP, Javascript, and MySQL.

I made improvements on the MRCC architecture and BESA framework, which are written in JAVA. I studied how to implement cooperative actions in a multi-agent environment using the MRCC. Thanks to contribution, the university could participate in LARC 2010.

Taught the complementary class of course called: engineering projects. My job was to reinforce the concepts that students saw in the lecture. The objective was not to teach students how to manage projects in electronics using tools as SysML. Also, I worked as laboratory assistant for embedded systems.

Support the teacher who dictated Programming Embedded Systems, projects in engineering, Programming II and Introduction to Digital Systems. My responsibility was graded the projects, quizzes, and homework.
