  • 2019 - 2019

Lecturer: Machine Learning in Health Care (Master course)

    Universität Augsburg
  • 11 Monate, März 2014 - Jan. 2015

Master thesis: Analytical and numerical studies on network information theory

    Unversity of California, San Diego

Index coding is a special case of network coding and of interest due to increasing demand for efficient wireless communication, e.g. video-on-demand applications. My tasks at UCSD included analytical and numerical studies on network information theory in order to determine the capacity region for selected problems. In doing so, structural properties, composite coding and submodularity of the entropy were of major relevance.

  • 3 Monate, Jan. 2013 - März 2013

Internship: Galvanostatic effects in energy storage systems

    TUM CREATE

TUM CREATE Ltd. is developing innovative technologies, future transportation concepts and the application of electric vehicles to match the challenging requirements of fast-growing tropical megacities. My project focused on thermodynamics of electrical energy storage systems during galvanostatic charge or discharge conditions. This involved hardware and software design, conduction of fundamental electrochemical experiments and analysis of thermodynamic measurements.

  • 3 Jahre und 3 Monate, Okt. 2009 - Dez. 2012

Teaching assistant: Algorithms for Digital Circuit Design

    Technische Universität München

As Teaching Assistant at the Institute of Electronic Design Automation, I developed lecture materials and held classes on Algorithms for Digital Circuit Design for about 150 students.

  • 5 Monate, Okt. 2011 - Feb. 2012

    Teaching Assistant: Signal Processing

    Technische Universität München

As Teaching Assistant at the Associate Institute for Signal Processing, I prepared and held weekly classes on stochastic signals for about 50 students.

  • 8 Monate, Mai 2011 - Dez. 2011

    Internship: Optimiziation of Surgery Scheduling

    Klinikum rechts der Isar

Intensive care units are valuable resources whose efficient allocation considerably affects the economic situation of a hospital. We studied processes and main factors in the Munich-based university hospital Klinikum rechts der Isar. Furthermore, we analyzed huge amounts of data to create a patient flow model. A Master Surgery Schedule has been developed having a positive impact on the capacity profile in the hospital. Published in Anesthesia & Analgesia Case Reports, 2015.

  • 3 Monate, Aug. 2010 - Okt. 2010

Internship: Signal processing and analysis of RFID communication systems

    Stevens Institute of Technology

RFID technology can be found in many of today's applications, however, not much attention is paid to security and privacy. During this internship, an Ettus USRP and GNU Radio were applied in order to transmit and receive signals on RFID frequencies. By means of this tool, I analyzed RFID communication and studied its cryptography in the lights of possible eavesdropping on modern applications such as credit cards or carsharing.

  • 2 Monate, März 2010 - Apr. 2010

Internship: Simulations of biomedical processes in Matlab and Simulink

    Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile

Many real-world processes can be simulated by means of electrical engineering approaches. My tasks included to identify such applications, describe them by a mathematical model and conduct simulations in Matlab and Simulink. My focus was on processes in geothermal power plants and blood circulation in human bodies.

  • 3 Monate, Juli 2008 - Sep. 2008

Internship: Practical training in mechanical processing

    Carl Zeiss AG, Oberkochen

During this hands-on internship, I learned to perform machining operations like turning, drilling and milling. Also machine maintenance, soldering and several process cycles were covered.

  • 2 Monate, Juli 2007 - Aug. 2007

    Internship: Electrical engineering in automotive

Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Weissach

This internship in the R&D department of Porsche offered a first glimpse into typical tasks of an electrical engineer in the automotive sector. My focus was on the analysis of LED systems and experiments on driving behaviour.
