Dr. Juliane Brock

At the IBS I got the chance to broaden my knowledge on prokaryotes and protein purification. Especially, I focus on Gram-negative bacteria, causing severe human diseases and opportunistic infections. I investigate in developing assays to screen thousands of antimicrobial substances. A base for the development of future drugs to treat bacterial infections and antibiotic resistance.

Besides the work in the lab, focusing on pathogenicity mechanisms and non codin RNAs of the plant pathogenic bacterium Xanthomonas, I supervised practical student courses, as well as bachelor and master theses. In addition I presented the progress of my work at several national and international meetings and in peer reviewed journals.

Prädikat: magna cum laude. Schwerpunkte: RNA-Biologie, Post-transkriptionelle Kontrolle, Pathogenitätsmechanismen, Genetik, Molekularbiologie. Die Arbeit wurde über ein DFG-Stipendium (GRK 1591) finanziert.
