Justin Abu Hoof

Conducted research on unconscious decision-making in healthcare-relevant social contexts. Designed interdisciplinary methods and led a research team. Mentored Bachelor’s and Master’s students in methodology and statistics. Supported additional projects and co-organised major neuroscience events, including ESCAN 2024 (Ghent) and a Brussels symposium.

Studied cognitive control and decision-making in psychiatric and neurotypical populations using neuroimaging techniques and interactive neuroeconomic tasks. Managed an interdisciplinary research project and analysed complex neuroimaging and behavioural data.

Co-developed and facilitated a psychiatric rehabilitation programme (“Buddy Project”) for long-term patients. Guided and supported more than 50 participants in their recovery process through structured activities, evaluations, and regular interaction. Independently launched and led a new branch in Amsterdam, coordinating between patients, clinical staff, and stakeholders.

Managed a 20-person front-of-house team in a high-volume environment, overseeing operations and ensuring quality service.

Implemented a longitudinal, cross-cultural survey tracking emotional and behavioural changes in the USA during COVID-19.

Applied indirect assessment methods to uncover psychological drivers behind user behaviour

Assisted in neurosurgery and oral/maxillofacial surgery departments, supporting staff in patient care.
