Starting September 2015, I was placed in Supply Base Commodity allowing me to understand the purchasing processes for Kirchheimbolanden. As a working student my tasks were acquire and maintain internal data and parameters in SAP/R3 System and then designing, creating and maintaining management reports. On a daily basis I was also supporting the technical procurement team in their operational business.

In the department of Finance Process Optimization I was supporting, analyzing, consolidating and reporting the monthly rolling Sales Forecast. Additionally, I supported and reported the global LRP-Planning and assisted in preparing management presentations. A big part of these tasks was data analysis and data reconciliation in SAP/R3 System and Business Warehouse Reports which all contributed to process optimization.

During my ten month internship I was working in Supply Management Shared Services assisting regional and global projects in the area of Purchasing Systems. Furthermore, I was assisting the team during the introduction of new SAP-, EDI- and Web-based processes and in the organisation of Supply Management Events. Generally speaking, the department serves as an interface function between Purchasing, IT, Logistics, Accounting and Suppliers.

One month after my highschool graduation I was able to arrange an internship at the headquarter office of BDP International in Philadelphia. This internship was more getting to know the business and its departments rather than working on projects. During these 5 months I had the opportunity to get to know different departments such as: Ocean Imports/Exports (8 weeks), Human Resources (3 weeks), Marketing (2 weeks), IT (3 weeks)

With its divisions Mercedes-Benz Cars, Daimler Trucks, Mercedes-Benz Vans, Daimler Buses and Daimler Financial Services, the Daimler Group is one of the biggest producers of premium cars and the world’s biggest manufacturer of commercial vehicles with a global reach. I went through a short-term internship during Highschool gaining a brief glimpse of R&D and manufacturing of different Mercedes models aswell as SMART.
