I designed, prototyped, and evaluated algorithms, protocols, and architectures for problems in communication networks, applying techniques from control theory, machine learning, optimization, signal processing, and game theory; I developed software using C/C++, Python, or Matlab, using libraries such as libc, STL, Boost, Gurobi, NumPy/SciPy, etc.; I participated in and co-managed international research projects, published and reviewed scientific papers, co-lectured courses, and supervised students

I have developed a distributed system for joint wireless transmission scheduling and video quality adaptation in dense wireless networks (a.k.a. small-cell networks), based on controll-theoretic algorithms

I developed some of the first adaptation algorithms for HTTP-based video streaming (MPEG-DASH), participated in the development of the first HTTP-based adaptive 3D streaming prototype, and co-authored a patent application

I developed congestion control algorithms for communication networks, and implemented the Host Identity Protocol (HIP) for the FreeBSD operating system I have participated in international research projects (EU FP6 Ambient Networks)

I have implemented and evaluated signal processing models for noisy neural networks in the visual cortex

I have implemented CAD modules for a roofing design software

I have designed, implemented, and tested a multifunctional server for communication with telecontrol stations

I have developed an automation software for an aeroacoustic test stand, as part of the research project: Active Noise Reduction for Turbofan Aero Engines
