Konstantinos Chasapis

Member of the core development team for the INFINITE MEMORY ENGINE (IME) product. Working in various user stories with the most significant the design and implemention of a novel data structure for persistent metadata. Also, addressing customer tickets. Contributed more than 18 KLOC in C that were merged in the production software.

Researched on scientific data compression methods. I designed and implemented a frame- work which automatically analyse and evaluate data compression ratio and overhead of various compression algorithms. Benchmarked: i) the metadata performance of the Lustre parallel distributed file system and ii) the HDF5-NetCDF scientific data formats. Taught various classes including: Efficient programming in C, Introduction to kernel programming.

Explored data clustering methods that can be used to improve scientific-data compression.

Implemented a linux kernel level file system aimed to provide I/O isolation among VM’s running in multi-tenant servers. Project involved: European Union Funded Project IOLANES (Advancing the Scalability and Performance in Multicore Platforms).

IT Support, taught Introduction to Programming classes.

Worked on I/O virtualization software. Implemented a block allocator, versioning module in the linux kervel. Assisted the cluster administators team on both software and hardware issues.
