    The Genetic Diagnostic Commission is an interdisciplinary, independent committee of experts in the fields of medicine, biology, ethics, law, and advocacy. My role as a research intern is to determine the status of newborn screening on a international level, with regard to guidelines, policies, regulations, testing offered. This information gathered from this research will be put into a report, which will help guide the formation of new practice guidelines for medical doctors in Germany.
