The Genetic Diagnostic Commission is an interdisciplinary, independent committee of experts in the fields of medicine, biology, ethics, law, and advocacy. My role as a research intern is to determine the status of newborn screening on a international level, with regard to guidelines, policies, regulations, testing offered. This information gathered from this research will be put into a report, which will help guide the formation of new practice guidelines for medical doctors in Germany.

Case coordination; Review of medical records; Search for and evaluation of related literature; Identification of laboratories and testing availability; Patient interviewing and education; Psychosocial support; Resource referral; Presentation of case findings to physicians and genetic counselors; Coordination of continuity care with other clinics; Preparation of educational materials.

As a clinical study monitor (CSM II) I was responsible for or involved with virtually all aspects of supervised clinical trials. At Cetero, which specializes in Phase I and Phase II clinical trials, my responsibilities included reading & understanding study protocols, assisting with routine dosing, sampling, sample processing, associated paperwork, and study unit supervision, preparing and maintaining study binders to insure content, organization, and timeliness
