Lisa Biswanger

I am the finance business partner for the global eCommerce team. I am the business analyst of the global eCommerce P&L, plan the eCommerce budget, analyse and report results and recommend action. In addition, I am the finance lead for a high-impact Omnichannel project.

I supervised all finance, accounting and customer service related activities for SolarWorld’s regional headquarters. I participated in the drafting of the company´s group accounting policies and compliance framework, and ensured its enforcement. I led the project to design and implement the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software for all trade and accounting activities. The project involved leading and coordinating teams operating in Singapore, Germany and the USA.

I led all activities of the finance team, incl. the carrying out of investment appraisals for the Board of Directors. These led to important decisions, such as investments in technology/production capacity or make-or-buy activities. I acted as main contact for due diligence and internal/external audits by potential investors. Under my supervision of HR activities, the company obtained an award for best place to work, attracted graduates from the world´s best universities, and grew to almost 400 employees.

I was a member of the team which set up and managed a German-Korean joint venture 250 megawatt photovoltaic module production plant (a joint venture between the Korean SolarPark and SolarWorld AG, headquartered in Germany). I succeeded in raising funds that financed the operation and growth of the company from four to almost 400 employees in less than three years. I advised on business and sales strategy, contributing to an annual sales volume of several hundred million US$ by 2010.

I assessed the feasibility of a potential rural electrification project in Vietnam and acted as Project Leader. This involved several field trips to remote areas in Vietnam. During that time, I wrote my research paper (Diplomarbeit), titled: Rural electrification in developing countries - market entry strategies for SolarWorld AG.
