ABSA Group Limited (Previously Barclays Africa Group Limited) Job Description: As the credit product head, the role includes leading a team of Regional Credit managers and analysts who provide a holistic sales focused structured credit function which includes leveraged finance, investment backed lending (including single stock, equity portfolios, unit trusts, hedge funds and other investment products), property finance, BEE structuring, retail and other general asset based finance.

Job description: To lead a team of Credit Sanctioners responsible for managing credit risk across a portfolio of clients, generally specific to industries, products or geographies by providing leadership, advice and guidance to enable them to achieve agreed business targets, execute the overall strategy and improve their performance in line with the business strategy and objectives.

Key responsibilities included: • Manage the counterparty credit risks associated with lending, trading and investing activities in a credit portfolio. • Critically analyze, capture, comment and report on client financials. • Reporting • Credit committee • Assist front office to structure facilities which sufficiently mitigate key risks to Bank whilst generating hurdle returns. • Sanction credit facilities within a delegated mandate.
