Supervisor: Dr. Joanna Loizou The aim of my project is to find synthetic rescue interactions in the context of DNA damage repair deficiencies, in particular in the Fanconi anemia disease (FA). The goal is to identify gene suppression interactions that will improve the viability and, ultimately, the repair of FA deficient cells. To do so, I have performed whole-genome knock-out screens in FA deficient cells, by employing the gene-trap mutagenesis technology.

Worked in the department of Genetic Counselling. My role was to characterise variants of unknown significance found in patients with breast and ovarian cancer in BRCA1 and BRCA2 genes.

Molecular studies of KIF18B as a possible mediator of the DNA damage response pathway.

- Taught in biochemistry practical classes to 1st year students (12 students) - Assisted in any doubts and explained the main focus of the biochemistry techniques

Purification of proteins of the apoptosis pathway to achieve their molecular structure. - Designed and achieved different constructs to favour the purification - Applied high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC)
