Outside of my studies I work for a translation/transcription agency, working on a freelance basis providing monolingual transcription services.

Seven weeks working as a senior staff member overlooking the smooth running of a language course centre. The role included looking after 13-16-year-old international students, preparing the accommodation and course in advance, making and confirming bookings, training staff, giving inductions, and overseeing disciplinary and welfare issues. I was also responsible for liaising with staff from other centres and our own facility providers, being an on-call senior member of staff at all times.

As part of my degree, I spent my third year in Hamburg. There I was an English language teaching assistant at a vocational school. This role included teaching original material, encouraging and motivating students to talk, leading my own classes, and being part of a professional and motivated team.

Summer work at a popular restaurant, working full-time front of house and behind the bar.

4-week summer job looking after 30-40 international students between the ages of 12-16. Providing pastoral care, helping with teaching, leading sports and games session, accompanying and overseeing students during day trips and excursions.

customer service in a bar/restaurant, working in an experienced team and gaining my first exposure to a working environment during my A-levels.
