    My thesis lives at the intersection of experiment and simulation - and that is exactly where I like to be. I am investigating how SnSb10 solder behaves under thermal cycling in MEMS microphone packages, with a specific focus on how gold contamination from lids and PCB surfaces changes the creep and deformation behaviour of the alloy.     Before the thesis, I spent a year getting familiar with the lab and the workflow. I ran DMA and TMA experiments on PCB and adhesive materials, built FEM models in ANSYS to match characterisation setups, and developed material parameter calibration pipelines in ANSYS Optislang. The goal was always the same - making sure the numbers coming out of simulation reflect what actually happens in the material.
