This foundation promotes and initiates nature conservation projects in Rhineland-Palatinate. I was involved in all fields of work, including public relations; project coordination; and administative work.

Aim of this organisation is to preserve and increase conservation areas and biodiversity within an agriculturally utilized landscape in Rhinehessen. I was actively involved in all conservation work such as the utilization of Scottish Highland Cattle for extensive use of areas worthy of protection; care of wetland habitats, former vineyards, and orchard meadows; ecological renaturation; neophyte control; tree care operations.

Within the framework of an EU-project (REPCO), I helped in understanding the mechanisms of resistence induction in grapevine through pathogen elicitors and biofungicides. I performed biotests to evaluate the fungicidal efficiency of different elicitors and biofungicides against grapevine downey mildew (Plasmopara viticola). Furthermore, I established and maintained cell cultures of different varieties of Vitis spec.

I worked as research assistant in the section plant cell culture. This section produces transgenic mosses (Physcomitrella patens) in a high-throughput process. My duties involved laboratory work under sterile conditions; flow cytometric analyses; identification of transgenic/non-transgenic plants; experiments on sporophyte induction in moss; PCR analyses; stereo microscopical recordings.
