Über mich

I'm a computer scientist with specialized on computer graphics (both real time and physically based), GPGPU, and their application to both physical and life sciences. I also enjoy to present scientific topics in a way intended to closing the gap between laymen and experts, and I am generally interested in E-Learning. Realizing the urgency of our current time's issues, I am considering the sector of nature protection as a new field of work, even if it means requiring a shift in focus regarding my work preferences.

  • 9 Monate, Nov. 2014 - Juli 2015

    Software Designer

    Thales Electronic Systems

In the context of my Master thesis, after having studied the physical model behind Thales' radio propagation software (KESS), I surveyed and developed accurate, efficient and parallel algorithms to extend usability from rural to urban environments. I focused on theoretical justification, applicability and limits of techniques from physically based computer graphics, and designed a software framework using OpenCL incorporating the results.

  • 5 Monate, Okt. 2013 - Feb. 2014

    Research assistant

    Universität Koblenz-Landau

I Designed and implemented algorithms for detection and accurate localization of road markings in LIDAR data.

  • 4 Monate, Okt. 2012 - Jan. 2013

    Research assistant

    Universität Koblenz-Landau

I continued working on the research works ”Robbie 19”. We enabled autonomous navigation of a mobile robot in complex outdoor environments. I implemented e.g. framework integration of a Velodyne LIDAR, scene graph representation of the robot and remote mission control.

  • 2 Jahre und 4 Monate, Sep. 2008 - Dez. 2010

    Research assistant

    Universität Koblenz-Landau

Within the context of the project AVILUS, funded by the BmBF, I supported PhD students by i.a. designing, implementing and/or integrating software features like Ray Tracing, Image based Lighting and photorealistic computer graphics.
