Time off to travel the world and move to Australia

In this role, I am responsible for directing the quality assurance department of 30 staff, divided into 4 teams. Since taking on the roll, I have led the QA from a more traditional setup to becoming fully embedded agile test engineers. Web penetration testing and internet security are also part of my daily responsibilities since January 2011. Additionally, I am responsible for managing and reporting software development metrics based on 'function point analysis'.

Beginning with the introduction of best practice test standards including developing test strategies and formulating test procedures, this role grew to managing a small team responsible for quality assurance. Automated and manual testing.

Test activities on this project range from database load and stress tests, security tests, web services tests, functional testing and system integration testing. As test team leader, my responsibilities involved defining the product-wide test strategy and coordinating testing activities.

Project 1: Automated and manual testing of main computer software for Tornado Aircraft from unit test level to full flight-simulated integration tests. Project 2: Automated test development (C++) for Eurofighter Ground Loading Station and maintenance of "interface configuration control" documentation.

Ensuring networked gaming machines distributed in venues throughout Victoria State adhered to stringent government legislature and company policy

Business acceptance testing and quality assurance during migration of historic data from a legacy system to a modern integrated business solution
