    Project Engineer & Doctoral Assistant

    Ghent University

The role as doctoral assistant involves research, teaching and management activities within the coastal engineering research group at Ghent University. The role as project engineer for the coastal and ocean basin (COB) involves setting up the new facility in terms of wave maker, current and absorption systems, measurement equipment, as well as strategic planning for the operational time of the COB.

  • 4 Jahre und 6 Monate, März 2015 - Aug. 2019

    PhD Student

    Ghent University

The goal of the research is to improve the knowledge of waves loading a dike mounted vertical wall and to predict the impact forces and pressures. Several physical model tests (small and large scale) are conducted, analytical approaches tested and numerical model codes (SWASH) applied.

  • 11 Monate, Sep. 2013 - Juli 2014

    Coastal Engineer

    NLWKN

Applying Matlab and Delft 3D software tools on wind and water level data, to improve the performance of the in-house storm surge prediction model for the German Bay.

  • 2 Jahre und 11 Monate, Okt. 2010 - Aug. 2013

    Research student

    TU Braunschweig

Hydraulic experiments on placing geotextile sand containers for offshore windfarm protection and numerical modeling with XBeach for the HARIMA project

  • 7 Monate, Aug. 2012 - Feb. 2013

    Internship

    Deltares

Applying a Laser Scanner for wave height measurements in the Deltares Delta Flume, extensive data analysis with Matlab
