 Responsible for the development of rural tourism working with key stakeholders (local chiefs, regional tourism offices and local tour operators).  Development of a capital expenditure and operations budgets for the unit (hotel).  Ensuring that all standard operating procedures for revenue and cost control are in place and consistently utilised to achieve the set targets.  Increase levels of service quality and enhance overall ambiance of customers’ experiences. 

Overseeing the events, functions, technical and food and beverage departments in the complex of Inkosi Albert Luthuli (ICC – Durban).  Ensuring that the conferences, events, concerts and exhibitions are executed according to the clients’ expectations.  Responsibility for the sound relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers.  Coordinating cleaning, catering, parking, waste disposal, security and general administrative services.

Overseeing the project of more than R500million of ordering and delivering of textbooks for about 6000 schools in the province of KwaZulu Natal.  Responsible for the reports and meetings for the key stakeholders (provincial Department of Education officials, districts, circuit and schools officials, publishers, booksellers, distributors, etc.).  Ensuring of good financial practices, governance and implementation of revenue generating streams and projects. 

Responsible for the coordination of performances of departmental heads with regards to the achievements of the hotel’s objectives in alignment with the entire organisation.  Coordinating building maintenance and repairs with buildings & grounds maintenance that affect normal building operation.  Review all utility usage and billing to ensure accurate recording and identify usage trends that indicate where utility usage could be conserved.

Responsible for developing an effective marketing strategy that takes into account all the marketing mix aspects.  To review financial statements, sales reports, purchase reports and keep a track of the same.  Monitor security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with internal security policies, licensing requirements and government security requirements and directives.  Analyse and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement.
