Member of the research project “Optimization Problems in Warehousing and Transportation for Green Logistics Practices”. The project focused on enhancing the environmental efficiency of order picking operations in warehouse material handling systems. The energy minimizing forklift routing problem was developed to improve the sustainability performance of the operations. The computational efficiency of various solution approaches has been investigated, and significant energy savings have been achieved.

Responsible for monitoring and optimizing the Kanban production control system at the production planning division. Analyzed the production scheduling system, relative mechanisms, and workforce to derive managerial insights to improve and accelerate inbound logistics activities. Organized Kaizen team project to push the system closer to the efficiency of lean manufacturing.

Thesis focus: Municipal Solid Waste Management with Cost Minimization and Emission Control Objectives. The green network design of Municipal Solid Waste Management was investigated to improve economic and environmental sustainability. The project collaborated with ITC, the company in charge of providing waste treatment and disposal services for Ankara, Turkey. Structural adjustments were suggested based on the field study, data gathering, and analysis of the logistics activities.

Thesis focus: Supply Chain Network Design under A Competitive Environment. • Developed a profit-maximizing partial covering facility location problem in a competitive environment. • Implemented exact solution methods and meta-heuristic algorithms.
