Head subunit and supervise General Service Staff, temporary staff, and consultants in developing strategic budget and management documentation (primarily three-year rolling Management Plan) for Executive Board of UN frontline agency combating global hunger as the world’s largest humanitarian agency with one of the largest UN budgets. Capture senior management expectations by coordinating input into draft documents from Head Office units in Rome as well as Regional Bureau and Country Offices.

Served on WFP IPSAS Implementation team responsible for drafting structure of IPSAS-compliant Financial Statements and respective note disclosures as well as developing new budgetary statement. Offered specific guidance on IPSAS Implementation related to Financial Statements and Budget Information. Coordinated and designed opening balance method for IPSAS financial statements. Oversaw workgroups in executing IPSAS requirements. Accurately prepared reconciliations between budgeted and actual amounts.

Coordinate Closing activities (monthly, quarterly, yearend) for Schenker, Inc and Schenker Logistics, Inc with a team of 3 analysts and 3 regional Controller. Coordinate National Budget process for company with respective regions. Develop, implement and monitor budget process in alignment with Senior Management expectations. Support for Region Americas Reporting and analysis functions. (Variance reporting actual versus budget). Responsible for External Reporting to Head office as well as Internal Reporting

Assist in Integration process of recently purchased Logistics company in a leading role in an integration team. Lead the budget process from a logistics perspective. Responsible to develop month end closing procedures. Assist solutions team with Pricing and RFP/RFQ process to obtain new business. Analyze existing dedicated and shared warehouse facilities to increase productivity/profitability.

Manage yearend reporting procedures and consolidation for Swiss head office. Conduct complex and extensive financial analysis for region. (such as comparison of American and European Accounting standards) Assist external auditors in yearend audit and standalone US GAAP financials. Evaluation of Acquisition candidates and transformation into KN format.

Worked directly with the Controlling personnel and department head. Extensive development of spreadsheets, programs and tools designed to improve the analysis and reporting of financial information, using Excel software. Created macros and designed automated calculation and printing tools for financial reporting packages. Converted legacy data from Lotus 123 to the new Excel programs. The new tools greatly streamlined the access to reports and analysis from branch information.
