Lead developer for SUSE internationalization with special focus on East Asian languages. Work across the entire distribution from technology evaluation through code contribution (C, C++, Perl, Lisp, other scripting languages), maintained 250+ rpm packages contributing patches upstream, including all input methods and fonts and many fundamental packages like freetype2 and fontconfig. Responsible for the transition of the SuSE platform to UTF-8. Led the translation of SuSE Linux 7.x into Japanese.

Developing software for the control of an infrared camera for the VLT (Very Large Telescope) in Chile. I worked on Linux, Solaris, an VxWorks with C, C++, and incr Tcl.
