Mohamed Farag

The company is an inspection and consultancy company, made of several departments including welding and lifting inspection departments. I worked with the ship design department of the company; designing both from scratch and altering the designs of already built ships. I also worked with the NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) department. Now I am working with the Lifting Inspection Department, where my duties involve inspecting cranes, lifting equipment and lifting gears. The company is LEEA certified.

The course is about advanced mechanical skills including Advanced CAD, Acoustics and Vibration, Finite Element Analysis and more importantly Product development, which is a simulation of a real product development team. My MSc project was on brake squeal optimization using Finite Element Analysis.

The 5-year course gives a scope about many Mechanical and Electrical subjects like electric circuits, electronic devices, Fluid mechanics, Data Acquisition, Automotive engineering, Turbomachinery and hydraulic systems. My final year project was on hydrogen boosted engine to reduce fuel consumption.
