I am responsible for liaison and support between the Hamburg University of Technology, industry, public administration and research policy developers on matters relating to EU supported research and innovation. Also serve a number of external clients in the public and private sector, and provide policy advice.

Responsible for new technologies and innovation management especially relating to cleaning machine automation and product stewardship. Direct staff responsibility 2-8, budget €0.4-0.5 million p.a. (equivalent to 10% of total R&D budget). Project Director of two European funded projects to develop a cleaning robot. Project manager of collaborative project involving German research establishments and SMEs addressing product lifecycle and environmental impact, sponsored by the German Environment Agency (DBU).

Business development project manager reporting to Chief Executive/Technical Director, responsible for setting up a function to promote the technology to senior representatives of British industry as part of UK Department of Industry’s National Advanced Robotics Programme Project manager and executor of DTI sponsored study into safety and standards relating to advanced robots (public domain report) European R&D programme links coordinator and bid coordinator for several projects.

Development engineer for real time software design for ABB’s industrial robot controller. Team leader for the LaserTrak Welding Sensor System product development: responsible for coordinating the work of 4-5 persons. (Swedish Engineering Achievement highlight 1987). Technical strategist for applied artificial intelligence and sensing systems used in production automation, providing specialist knowledge within the ABB Robotics Group Worldwide.

Electrical and control engineering
