Analysis of the trematode diversity in vertebrate definitive hosts in Austria. The techniques included field work, dissections, and microscopy. Furthermore, a database for the distribution of the trematodes found has been established.

Purpose: Supporting students in microscopy of (parasitic) pathogens.

Title of Master thesis: “Digenean trematodes in freshwater snails in the surroundings of Vienna with a focus on species involved in human infections”. Purpose: Evaluation of the prevalence of medically important trematodes and of the risk of infection for humans.
