Development and implementation of new solutions for JPMorgan, these have included: a redesign of the bulk server deployment process, standardisation of infrastructure, deployment of a virtual development environment and improvements to internal procedures to streamline workflow.

Linux support team Lead for a HPC/Grid/Cloud consisting of nodes spanning sites across EMEA and NA, in addition to BAU functions improvements to the grid infrastructure were made including new monitoring infrastructure (Zenoss) new build infrastructure (Cobbler) as well Leading critical fault resolution and major maintenance work i.e. Datacenter power down’s.

Deployed every major Grid in EMEA for Investment Bank, in addition to this the whole grid deployment process was reviewed and tuned to improve both the project management and the instillation process. Critical to the role is the ability to lease with cross lines of business and external vendors to ensure all deadlines are met. Due to the nature of Grids my role was pivotal in the integration of new technologies including the first deployment of an Infiniband grid with an EMEA JPMC datacenter.

Build of Unix Servers as well as development of the automated Linux install procedure so that non technical staff and build to a high level.

Third line 24/7/365 support of a server farm consisting of: E10K’s, Fujitsu Primepower 2000/1500, Sun E450’s etc. Administration of the ft.com website and CMS systems along with managing all Unix servers globally within the Financial Times. Average workload: 45% Administration, 45% Projects, 10% System updates

Third line support of a server farm consisting of over eighty Compaq prolient servers and Sun E450’s. Administration of Unix environment along with administration of NT Domain. Average workload: 45% Unix Administration, 45% Unix Projects, 10% NT administration.
