Nicolas Alberto Mejia Riaño

I liaise with authorities of the Federal States of Hessen, Baden-Württemberg, Nordhein-Westfalen, Saarland, Rheinland-Pfalz, Bayern and Thüringen, to promote the interests of Colombia and its citizens and foster cultural relations between both countries. I also passports and travel documents to Colombians and visas to foreign citizens. I act as notary and civil registrar and perform administrative duties and responsibilities.

I negotiated with national institutions and diplomatic missions of donor countries the design of development cooperation frameworks in Colombia and provided political and diplomatic advice regarding their implementation. i then switched to political affairs, a role where I produced deliverables needed for defining and supporting the country’s position on disarmament and non-proliferation issues, in coordination with state, private, academic and civil society institutions.

I taught – jointly with the Senior Lecturer - the undergraduate courses "Politics and International Economic Relations" - in Spanish and English – and “Methodology of Social Research”
