Nicole Geisse

As a TV Journalist, I was responsible for researching, planning and producing broadcast articles and reports, conducting interviews, and developing proposals for new topics and approaches in the daily thematic editorial meetings.

The German-Latin American Fellowship of the International Journalists' Programmes (IJP) offers young talented journalists from all countries of South and Central America the opportunity to work in a German mostly Berlin-based media and to investigate own stories on the ground. As a fellow my tasks involved working for the Welt editorial office, as well as for CNN Chile as a correspondent. First IJP fellow ever to be offered a permanent position by the hosting media organisation.

My constant interest in international developments led me to work in the International Press Department of CNN Chile. My tasks involved the reporting of news. I conducted interviews, produced television reports and made live comments, for which content I was responsible. As a reporter and anchor I demonstrated outstanding abilities to work under pressure and to inform the news with precision and professionalism.

As a volunteer I worked with young people in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania Elaboration of different topics (gender equality, ethnic traditions, equal opportunities, etc.) Teaching basics of journalism

My interest in international relations and human rights led me to apply to the UN, whose work and relevance has always been of great interest to me. My tasks involved the identification, writing and analysis of news related to human rights in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay and Venezuela, as well as the organisation of events, the maintaining of networks and the development of communication plans.
