Feasibility study to replace the traction drives of electric locomotives in Basel • Inechnical analysisternal benchmarking - Travelled at maintenance plants in Germany (Hamburg, Saarbrücken and Seddin). • Analysed the current infrastructure and inventory of the plant in Basel. • Technical and process based analysis of traction drives replacements. • Proposed and assessed different technologies and solutions to change the traction drives of the locomotives in Basel.

Modernization of the sand filling station: • Analysed the current infrastructure and inventory of the plant in Basel for main problems and optimizations. • Listed the technical requirements for the new station • Data collection directly from employees during night shifts • Etablished contacts with the manufacteur in order to present the improvement and problems of current sand filling station. • Acted as an interpreter between the French and German companies.

• Operated at the gear-wheels cutting department. This experience gave me knowledge about manufacturing on the shop floor level. For example about set-up times, charts with key performance indicators and more. • Provided unfinished goods to the machines with manual post-processing of the pieces.

• Supported the electrical department which provides cooling systems for different machines. This introduced me to electrical engineering and their functions on the shop floor level. • Prepared electrical cabinet for installation of the electrical component. This involved drilling holes, fixing rails, placing electrical equipment, labelling connections or fitting cables.
