Area: TV Broadcasting. ROUTE is a new IP-based broadcast media delivery protocol, uses MPEG-DASH for content delivery. The thesis work involves exploring the applicability of this new standard and optimizations to enhance further. Tasks- •Development of the sender and receiver programs for ROUTE in C. •Development of the sender and receiver Web-based applications using JavaScript, PHP. •Optimizations to improve end-to-end latency of the delivery system and channel change time in the receiver.

Conformance Software development for MPEG DASH (Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP) Conformance Software checks and approves the conformance of DASH contents to standard specification. •Enhanced the DASH contents’ validation algorithm (C++) based on ISO Media File Format. •Improved the web-based Media Presentation Description (MPD) validation tool using JavaScript, PHP and HTML. •Developed a web-based Automation test framework to track changes between different conformance software versions.

Project: Truck Powernet Design The environment was developed for the selection of appropriate Alternator and Battery for the Daimler (Fuso) Truck model. The roles and responsibilities- •Development of Algorithm in Matlab (m-scripts) for Alternator Charge-Discharge Balance Simulation (using Alternator characteristics, vehicle drive cycles, loads, weather data) and Battery sizing (using Battery life cycle, starter motor characteristics, temperature). •Development of Graphical User Interface in Matlab.
