After developing Tyro Connect for two years, the growth phase of the product has begun. New challenges are setting up a support team and integrating overseas engineers into the team.

Following helping out in this greenfield cloud-first project initially, I was offered to lead the engineering of Tyro's new product. The team was set up like a start-up within Tyro to enable fast delivery and reduce external dependencies. After recruiting team members, workshopping ways of working, values, the definition of done and setting up agile rituals with the team, a clear mission, vision, strategy and roadmap were essential to creating a sense of urgency, drive, focus and commitment to deliver.

As a team, we have grown from a disengaged team to one of the most engaged engineering teams in the company (improvements based on engagement survey results: engagement +23%, teamwork and ownership +29%, innovation +29%, management +7%). As a delivery lead at Tyro, the focus is not only on delivery it is on discovery, validation and measurement to make sure that we are delivering the right thing for our customers aligned to our Objectives and Key Results (OKRs).

Working as a multi-project Scrum Master with cross-functional teams I am currently empowering teams by implementing Scrum, XP and BDD to deliver high-quality software. In my role, I am responsible for managing projects from initial engagement to delivery, I facilitate Scrum and stakeholder meetings. Apart from that, I see myself as a motivator and strive for a positive team spirit. I have established successful Sprint gatherings and weekly Yoga sessions to create a productive culture.
