As a small company we use some sort of matrix management system accommodated to our small size. I act as the head of development in order to make the important decisions, set the due times, and manage costs and budgets, but I still code a lot. Right now I am closer to mobile development but from time to time I switch back the back-end when help is needed. My role puts me in touch with customers, they usually ask for the tech-guy but we have a very good sales department so I let them be.

At the beginning I was kind of a lonely wolf developing solutions be my self using my free time, gladly at some point and after some nice presentations, my colleagues saw the importance of becoming a technology owner rather than a plain reseller. After that I worked part-time as a full-stack engineer and part-time as a project leader. I had to develop a team at the same time we needed some coding work done.

The company was centered around business solutions and sites optimizations for scale and global exposition using CDN technologies. Akamai was our best parter at the time we integrated them to most of the biggest business in Latam those years. I worked a lot with Mercado Libre in their early years, when they were just an ambitious startup Team. I'm happy to see them becoming a revelation in Wall Street this years.

I did some works in my university to get credits and help paying the bills. It was mostly related to keeping the Electronics Department Labs clean, assembling PCB Boards, Measuring prototypes and doing some Math.
