I am seeking the next challenging position and sharing my industrial experience and expertise of the European industrial marketplace. I see my role as an innovator and catalyst in the system design process and can suggest integrated software and hardware solutions to produce original and advantageous solutions.

My position in the technology development group gave me full scope to look at possible future trends in axle and trailer development. I introduced the use of tools such as Matlab and Simulink that enable us to investigate axle behaviour under conditions that are not possible with on road testing.

Hardware specification, design and implementation to the point of its introduction into our automated SMD production line, using RS485 Bus technology and a differential audio bus providing communication throughout the hospital complex and between buildings. I extended the address range of the microprocessor using a memory banking technique with programmable logic arrays. The use of Echelon technology was instrumental in achieving the functionality required.

I advised on a number of projects, within the design briefs supplied by my clients. These projects included factory-wide automation, with specific reference to cost, long term support and ease of integration with existing work practices, and an initial design study for a video capture system.

I wrote real time assembler programs including digital filter algorithms, digital control packages and data communication polling routines; I also used languages such as FORTRAN, Basic and C running under the UNIX operating system. I designed application software to client specifications for projects including petrol road loading gantries, food processing plant optimisation, and oil and gas fiscal metering for North Sea platforms and was responsible for both the hardware and software specification.

I trained in a state of the art steel works on a wide range of electrical equipment including electrical cranes, motors and control gear, high tension switch gear and rolling mill drives and auxiliary equipment. I was a principle member of the team which designed, built and commissioned the first T.T.L. digital roll gap positioning control system for a computer-controlled hot rolling mill. I also completed a number of hot stock tracking measurement projects.
