Our team of engineers was mainly responsible for the hosting and infrastructure of back end IIS and DotNet based web services. I have the most experience in that field. We also started supporting web services running in Java on Linux VMs, and Kubernetes (both in AWS cloud and on-premise).

Additionally to Windows based services we took over Java (Linux) web apps too, learning the basics of Linux administration, Ansible etc.

Here I learnt the basics and gathered experience with web hosting custom software code in Windows environment (IIS and DotNet)

In a relatively small team, our responsibilities range from 1st level support to infrastructure management. It gives an opportunity to train myself as network engineering (cabling, switch, power supplies and server hardware). We support MS Windows based end-devices (Windows 10) and server services (Active Directory, Office 365 and Azure, Lync, Exchange, printing, file services etc.) and Kaspersky Security Center, Heat DSM software distribution, data backups (HPE Data Protector and Veeam).

As a junior engineer I learned the basics of web hosting. We were responsible for on-premise services: Exchange Server, Lync, SharePoint, Blackberry. Also my first steps with Powershell scripting which grew into a passion of mine.
