Site Manager for consultants team overseeing construction & commissioning of a 1200MW anthracite/coal fired station, 4x 300MW steam turbine units and subcritical boilers, supplied by Shanghai Electric Corporation/Bechtel & Alstom China. Responsible for Staff Administration and Accommodation, Site Finance & Petty Cash, Transport, Issuance of all Design Review & Non Conformance reports, HSE & Site Inspections with follow-up. Chairing weekly meetings with Client and EPC Contractor.

Lenders Engineer for Reconstruction-Credit- Institute – (KfW) on short term freelance contract in Afghanistan, (Sarobi 26MW & Mahipar 75MW Hydro Power plants near Kabul). Responsible for overseeing end-of-contract, hand-over & completion activities by contractor Voith-Siemens as Resident Engineer. Also active in planning next phase of project, liasing with local Afghan Ministry of Energy & Water.

Owners Engineer for PNG Power, the solely government owned Electricity utility. Project involved Hydro Power Plant rehabilitation near P.Moresby. Responsibilities included overseeing & supervision of the Hydro Turbine/Generator rehabilitation and Balance-of-Plant restoration.

Electrical R.E. at Kogan Creek Power Station Chinchilla Queensland, Australia. Responsible for overseeing construction, carrying out inspections, monitoring quality, performance, documentation and work methods/planning. Main contractor Siemens AG. on plant including supercritical 1x750MW dry cooled steam turbine generator, boiler feed/condensate pumps, FD/ID fans, transformers, switchgear, protection, emergency power supplies etc.

Contract with UNDP - Iraq, based in Nicosia Cyprus and Amman Jordan. Employed on Japanese (JBIC) funded rehabilitation contracts for 3 Iraqi Power Plants (with Hitachi as main contractor), for steam & gas turbines, boilers, water pumping and sanitation projects, repairs/new system installation for Iraqi grid transmission networks and nationwide 400/132kV SCADA system (value US$30m) . Entailed writing specifications, making commercially oriented comparisons for scopes-of-work and equipment.

Specialist Engineer as Member of Electrical and Mechanical Machinery Section responsible for plant and equipment condition assessment/determination of generating plant reliability, ageing, safety and risk. Responsible for co-ordinating the inspection of large pumps, pipework and Emergency Generating Plant, sanctioning plant modifications and installations at 4 Swiss Nuclear Power Plants (2 x BWR, 2 x PWR).

Responsible for evaluating and generating technical & commercial proposals, FEED studies, designs, and engineering specifications for high-speed, axial & centrifugal turbo compressor plant using gas turbine or electric motor drivers with ratings of 5 to 30MW. Activities mainly concerned with offshore oil & gas platforms or FPSO´s. Member of development team for encapsulated high speed, direct-drive compressors with speed range 10'000 to 18'000rpm. Specialist with regard to variable frequency drives.

Project management & Engineering involving CAT 3600 Engine product. Supervision of sub-contractors & suppliers. Installation & Commissioning of large/complex diesel & natural gas fuelled co-generation/CHP units and balance of plant.

Project Manager/Engineer in team concerned with modernization and retrofitting utility steam turbine generators and control/SCADA systems. Specialized on turbine electrohydraulic governors and controls.

Electrical R.E. at Nkula "B" Hydro Power Station - Malawi, for planned extensions. Main Contractors AEG (generator), Voith (40MW Francis Turbine).

Responsible for design, installation & commissioning of power plant, large drive systems and industrial controls in:- Power station Balance of Plant/ Mining Industries (gold, platinum & diamond)/ Metallurgical/Steel Industry

Operation & Maintenance in an Electricity Supply utility esp. small hydro electric schemes, 200km 132kV transmission line, 150km 22/33kV rural distribution networks, telecontrol & SCADA systems, Islanded rural diesel power generation.

Nuclear Power station Fuel route Operation & Maintenenance, especially on-line reactor refuelling machinery and remote handling equipment.

Presently working together with MAN Diesel & Turbo in Augsburg Germany. Involved with commissioning of Gas reciprocating engines, (ca. 18MW) projects around the world.
