Phyllis Kong

My major tasks include monitoring social risks of raw materials production in sourcing countries, contributing to strategic direction of the Ferrero Farming Value (FFV) Programme and managing suppliers' sustainability performance. Specifically, I coordinate the partnerships with NGOs and institutions for the social and community projects of the FFV Hazelnut Programme in Turkey, focusing on seasonal workers and children's rights' issues; and assist in drafting of the Hazelnut Production Standard.

Provided business case research and editorial support to the book ‘CSR Communication: An Stakeholder approach’ to be published in 2013; Analysed successful business CSR initiatives from different stakeholder approaches (e.g. supplies, consumers, employees, etc.) and collected updated commercial data and figures for the book’s case studies

Collected and analysed existing national surveys related to consumers/ citizens trust in business and attitudes towards CSR before drafting the proposed sets of questions of the periodic surveys of this field; Conducted content analysis in regards of the criticisms of the renewed EU strategy of 2011-2014 for CSR from different parties

Planned and delivered the social media strategy for the Gemin-i partnerships programme (aka Tribes); started up a Gemin-i blog which has had an impressive 1227 hits since its launch less than a month; Researched a pipeline of organisations and companies, who might be interested in Tribes and the online youth communities, to approach; Represented the organization at external events and via social media (i.e. twitter and online forums) to forge relationships with potential partners

Conducted desk research for environmental campaign (e.g. comparison of carbon emission between electric and conventional cars); Produced blog entries and conducted social media marketing for environmental campaigns (e.g. World Water Day, Car Free Day), including blogging, advertising on forums and facebook, etc.; Outreached corporate for World Water Day fundraising partnerships through emailing and phoning
