As a senior fellow in the department of gene therapy, I worked on identification of biomarkers for human brain tumors. to theis end, I identified the gene HMGB2 as one of the potential markers for high grade glioblastoma in humans. Further I developed a baculoviral vector based suicide gene therapy for glioblastomas and demonstrated its efficacy in a mouse intracranial tumor model.

As a research fellow in the department of physiology, I conducted research on understanding the signaling mechanisms involved in restenosis, after vascular injury in a rats. I specifically worked on the enzyme PTP1B and its role in controlling the expression levels of the enzyme PKG.
