I am assigned to Henry Ford Dearborn Medical Center as a laboratory assistant. I draw blood and do light data entry along with some clerical duties such as filing papers, answering the phone and making copies.

I was assigned to Henry Ford Dearborn Medical Center as a laboratory assistant. I draw blood and do light data entry along with some clerical duties such as filing papers, answering the phone and making copies.

I worked for St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital as a lab assistant. I go on blood drawing rounds three times during an 8-hour shift. On any given round I draw 5 to 10 patients. When I am not drawing blood during a shift, I am processing at least 150 specimens a day using the Sunquest and Misys data entry system. Also I fax lab reports, distribute lab reports in doctors’ mailboxes and give lab results over the phone to doctors and nurses.

I worked for Harper Hospital as a lab assistant. I would go on blood drawing rounds three times during an 8-hour shift. On any given round I draw 10 to 20 patients. When I was not drawing blood during a shift, I was processing at least 250 specimens a day using the Sunquest and Misys data entry systems.
