Berufserfahrung von Pritesh Astik

  • Bis heute 4 Jahre und 8 Monate, seit Nov. 2019

    CAE Analyst

    Mercedes-Benz Research & Development India

    • Came up with innovative solutions in the Innovation program at Mercedes-Benz, leading to 1 patent filing and 3 novel ideas submission to the Daimler Innovation Portal. • Validated a new modelling method for a concept cooling system Fan, to be used for future series production vehicles development. • Provided design suggestions for a new under-hood Floor-panel, which improved the vehicle thermal behavior along with positively influencing aerodynamics, i.e., reducing vehicle drag.

  • 1 Jahr und 7 Monate, Apr. 2018 - Okt. 2019

    Assistant Manager - CFD

    Royal Enfield

    • Created Java script with Netbeans for automation, to reduce CFD setup time from 20 hours to 30 minutes, resulting in 40% cost reduction. • Performed engine Oil Cooler design optimization studies, leading to 60% reduction in project completion time. • Validated a new transient simulation method for Engine oil flow path and splash modelling, to develop competency in Lagrangian flow modelling. • Developed Engine Conjugate Heat Transfer analysis method, to be used during all future Engine development phases.

  • 8 Monate, Feb. 2016 - Sep. 2016

    Master's Thesis

    FEV Europe GmbH

Master Thesis: Numerical Modelling of Multi-hole Injectors using CONVERGE • Calibrated the Kelvin-Helmholtz Rayleigh-Taylor spray break-up model for multi-hole gasoline injector sprays modelling using Converge CFD. • Performed engine in-cylinder injection simulation study in a single cylinder research engine with the calibrated spray break-up model.

  • 6 Monate, Mai 2015 - Okt. 2015

    Master's Internship

    FEV Europe GmbH

Project: A Simulative Study of Primary Atomization of Liquid Injection through Nozzles • 3D two-phase flow simulations performed in CONVERGE CFD to gain insight into primary liquid jet breakup phenomenon. • Volume-of-Fluid and PLIC geometric reconstruction methods utilized. • A custom code was implemented in C, to generate Sauter Mean Diameter and drop size distribution. • Comparative study between LES and DNS simulation strategies.

  • 10 Monate, März 2014 - Dez. 2014

    Student Research Assistant

    FEV Europe GmbH

    • Standardizing AUTOSAR Naming Convention for the future projects. • Diesel Engines Cooling System, Gearbox Detection & Drivability Controller Modelling in Simulink.

  • 2 Monate, Mai 2012 - Juni 2012

    Bachelor's Internship

    Indian Institute of Technology Bombay

Project: CFD Modelling of a Heat Exchanger • Developed a MATLAB code to simulate the dynamic flow and heat transfer characteristics of a Hampson-type heat exchanger. • Used Finite Difference Method to model the governing equations and Gauss-Seidel iterative scheme to compute the algebraic equations. • Incorporated dynamic updating of thermo-physical properties of working fluid, for steady and transient characteristics.

  • 2 Monate, Mai 2011 - Juni 2011

    Internship

    Indian Institute of Science

Project: Stress - strain Analysis of Arterial Elastin • Characteristics of aortic protein, elastin, studied by stress - strain analysis on a planar biaxial stretcher. • Experimental responses of elastin computed to plot curves for Cauchy stress v/s Green strain. • Plots validated to the established strain energy functions and development of a new strain energy function to define the elastin properties.
