- Aside from the normal cashier role, developed an application for automatically generating schedules for placing 60 cashiers in the 20 Lisbon shops. The application is based on operations research concepts to distribute people according to company's priorities. - Managing a shop in Namibia throughout an extreme business peak

Developing a new model for calculating the heating and cooling needs for the whole stock of residential buildings in the North of Portugal. It works by defining c. 100 representative building categories, with the help of official statistical data and then calculating the energy demand for a dwelling which is representative of each category. This will allow testing the economic, financial and environmental impacts of several policy and energy price evolution scenarios.

- Development of an Excel model of EU-wide energy consumption and building stock characteristics. At BLP worked with very experienced UK construction professionals, learning about materials, techniques and about the different industry stakeholders. Representing our research centre in a consortium for government competition ‘Retrofit for the Future’. Worked collaboratively with a group of architects and engineers to produce a winning bid. Alongside took the opportunity to attend world class conferences and networking events
