Rick Minnich

I write, direct and produce feature-length documentary films as well as shorter non-fictional work for the cinema, television and online.

I am the Documentary Filmmaker in Residence at Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania for the Fall 2017 semester. I am teaching an advanced undergraduate documentary production course while working on my feature documentaries THE STRAIT GUYS and MR. GREENFIELD.

I wrote and directed two feature-length documentaries for the cinema ("Homemade Hillbilly Jam" and "Forgetting Dad"), which Hoferichter & Jacobs produced. I also shot and directed a "making of" of the European Film Academy master class by Oscar-winning cinematographer Anthony Dod Mantle and wrote the documentation for the European Master Class with Oscar-winning production designer Allan Starski.

I wrote and directed 30-second promotional trailers for documentaries DW broadcast.
