Worked with a number of clients on various projects — mostly consulting, workflow migration and optimisation, as well as on-the-job software training and support — for publishing and print companies. Tasks included: • Enabled migration of magazine “Neues Wohnen” to Macintosh & Quark XPress. • Implemented solution for editorial staff of newspaper “taz” to allow direct control of photo-typesetter in print company via ISDN. • Managed relocation of print magazine “Capital Ost” without any work interruption.

Responsible for all IT&T matters at Gruner+Jahr Economic Press, supporting the operations of four economic magazines (Capital, impulse, Börse Online, BIZZ) with ca. 200 staff in six locations, plus special projects; reporting to the GM. Consistently benchmarked as most cost-effective IT unit across all of Gruner+Jahr.

Prepared expert opinion for lawsuit at the German Federal Court (BGH)regarding structural automotive design and engineering faults. This included structural analysis & FEM simulation.

Founded Omnilab GbR with two partners, to provide cross-platform solutions and services for print and publishing companies, covering Windows, Novell, Macintosh, Unix, and whatever else our clients require. Grew from scratch to 8 people and DEM3m turnover within the year. Responsible for everything technical, including second-level support, research, development, personnel management, advertising & public relations, financial management, day-to-day operations; as well as personnel.

Consulting publishing clients with transition projects, responsibly manage projects & budgets from start to finish, plan, implement & support workflows, infrastructure, templates, documentation, training schedules, and whatever is required, responsibly supervise multiple projects. In charge of planning and implementing the transition of Germany's largest economic magazine "Capital" to a Mac-/Quark-based workflow, while simultaneously supervising similar projects at other sites.

Working at the Department of Automotive Engineering, contributing to an interdisciplinary research project on CAE (SFB 203). Mostly programming work towards a software system for parameter-based car concept design. Responsible for parameter-driven generation of 3D models for engine and drive-train including wheels, I also created cross-platform (VMS, Ultrix, BSD), cross-language (Fortran, C) project APIs and libraries for unifying access to multiple 3D graphics systems (PEX, PHIGS, Tektronix).

Analysed the workflows and cooperation across all departments involved in the early concept design of new car models (ca 1500 workplaces); based on that analysis designed specifications and structure for a software system to integrate existing tools & workflows. Work commissioned by AUDI from TU Berlin, resulting thesis rated with „High Distinction".
