Patent Acquisition and Licensing in the Hemp and Cannabis Industries.

Sole US IP counsel guiding IP creation, capture, and enforcement. Supervise and support IP paralegal team in managing an international IP docket. Review and guide inter-parte reviews and consult on US trademark and patent litigation. Manage international patent prosecution in a broad range of technologies, including real-time signal processing, optics, and electro-mechanics, with a strong focus on medical devices, particularly endoscopes. Provide patentability, validity, infringement, and FTO opinions.

US patent preparation and prosecution; invalidity, freedom-to-operate, and infringement opinions. Assist in European and PCT prosecution in the signal processing, power semiconductors, and medical device arts. Review and draft EULAs.

European patent prosecution and preparation in, inter alia, the aeronautical, medical device, and signal processing arts (including video, voice, and audio coding). Draft EPO appeal briefs and numerous responses to summons to attend oral proceedings and provide oral arguments before Examining Divisions and Boards of Appeal. Advise on U.S. intellectual property issues and instruct US colleagues on German-originated cases.

Conducted disclosure meetings and drafted patent applications in the telecommunication and semiconductor arts. Responded to USPTO Office Actions regarding claim rejections under 35 U.S.C. sections 101, 102, 103, and 112.
