I am overseeing a portfolio of grid connection schemes from acceptance to energisation and close out. Schemes mainly connect battery storage, gas, solar and wind. In addition I provide development advice to the WSP’s Renewables team on grid connection and electrical system aspects. WSP frequently works as the role of TA and OE for project developers and I have experience in dealing with developers at various stages of the development cycle on international Renewable projects.

Site based OE for the connection aspect of the East-West Interconnector HVDC link into National Grid's 400kV substation.

Technical role as before with additional line managerial responsibility for 10 professional engineers and an interface to the company's Renewables team including representing a Renewables Developer as Owner’s engineer for the BoP and grid connection element for a large UK wind farm.

Representing a Distribution Network Operator as Project Manager for Renewable Connections (Wind, Solar, Biomass). Full responsibility for the Project Management and Engineering of projects from the concept design and engineering, tender evaluation, contract award through to design verification, construction, testing, commissioning and defect liability.

Successfully managed a large 132/11 kV substation replacement project for Western Power Distribution in the city of Birmingham. This major project comprised of the full feasibility development and design and built project implementation of an indoor HIS solution, transformers and 11 kV substation.
